I am rewritting my review because even after the confusion and our appology they are still accusing us of cutting down the tree at our campsite. The signs are not lit up, if you google map phantom camp grounds it will take you here. They are unfriendly to those who come in late. Maybe you should have a late night check in so people dont make this mistake. I want to make this extra clear to you once again WE DID NOT CUT ANY TREES IN THE CAMP SITE. There was a dead already cut down tree across the walk way that we got wood from. These people have no underatanding for people who are first time campers in CO and came in late. Light up the damn boards, close your gates, have a late night check in, and get the freak over your selves and know people make mistakes! We made a mistake and this lady freaked out, there was trash in the fire pit, trees were picked at and we were blamed for it, they will take pictures of you, yell and scream, cry, and make everything confusing. Do NOT come here unless you come during the day and come on one of there good days cause they are unforgiving and nit understanding that people make honest mistakes. Made the mistake of coming here on accident and will not be back EVER again. DO NOT RECCOMEND HERE UNLESS YOU ARE PRISTENE AND ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.
Went to visit son that lives there and it is really nice, but the road need repaired and maybe some gravel. When it rains it is aweful!!! Beautiful views, nice homey feeling, lots of adventures and hiking. Camp ground manager is very awesome and friendly.
A quiet small campground hidden away surrounded by wildlife, open skies, beautiful scenery and history. Very nice caring family owned place.
So I stoped by here earlier in the year looking for a local spot to camp with my son. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and location. The bathrooms are amazing and really surprised me. I have done a lot of camp grounds across America and rarely do you fine one with these nice of bathrooms at this cost! So what, it's a 2 mile dirt road to drive down, if my little Dodge Avenger can do it then all your cars/trucks can. The camp sites are great size with already built and cleaned fire pits. I can not even express how friendly and kind the owners are here. I will say however it is a place where you feel like your camping with family and friends. Spoke with the owner a bit, the family camped next to us as well. All around always a great experience and we will be back. Was my sons first time camping and he loved it!
It wasn't very good, some of them in the park drugs and alcohol we're a factor. I won't go back.
